Finding a Cheap Car for Your Teen Driver, Peer Pressure & Materialism

Buying the cheapest cars for teen drivers is a no-brainer. Since teenagers are inexperienced drivers, you don't want to risk your teens ruining your decent cars.

We picked up a 2000 Honda Civic for our 17 years old daughter. The vehicle was barely driven and came with an odometer of 100K miles. It was a good car overall, everything works excellent, except its curb appeal, it came from the East Coast, and it was rough.

My teen daughter mentioned it is a bit embarrassing to park her car in the school with everybody else. She did not want her peer to see her car and become a laughing subject. To boost her security, we took it to my bodywork technician for a make-over. After just 2 days, the 2000 Honda Civic looks brand new. It looks awesome, although it is still a 2000 Honda Civic, she said. The car cost $2K, the bodywork $1K (discount cost, of course), a total $3K. She gets a good-looking, reliable 2000 Honda to drive for 5-10 years.

I am sure the awesome curb appeal will be damaged somehow, by her or others. But I say, BRING IT ON, I have no fear because I have Juan (my bodywork technician).
